One awesome first week!

Woo hoo! You all did it! You finished your first full week of Kindergarten! I am sure all of you parents have heard so much about "Pete the cat" today. We read "Pete the Cat Rocking In My School Shoes" and the boys and girls loved it! We then found a secret note from Pete in the back of the book telling us where he was hiding through out Butterfield school! We took a tour and found Pete's notes in the art room, music room, gym, library, and computer lab! Unfortunately, Pete was no where to be found:(. Some of us do think we found some of his fur though!

Make sure to check your child's backpack this weekend! Lots of important information in there! See you all next week for color week! :)

First day of school

We did it!  I have to say it was a whirlwind day but we met some amazing children!  We were very impressed.  It was a very successful first day. Okay, everyone get to bed early and we will see you bright and early! :)

Be excited!

Today I dropped my youngest off at high school.  Boy, was that an emotional moment!  I did not think I would have such a strong reaction because I have done this three times before.  I had to think about what I tell my kindergarten parents, "Be excited for them! If they see you upset, it will only be more difficult for them."  So I said good-bye, love you and told him to have a great day!

Miss Ambler and I are both aware that Kindergarten is a huge transition for children and their families and we will help make these first days of school go as smooth as possible for everyone.

Family Letters

Miss Ambler and I have been very busy creating a fun and exciting environment for our incoming kindergartners. (pictures to come) Letters went home today to explain what the first days of school will look like.  Times for assessments were assigned to each student unless we personally discussed other arrangements.  If you need to change your time, please contact Mrs. Maderak in the office at (630) 827-4000.  Thank you so much. As always please feel free to contact us about any possible questions you may have.
