Daily 5 - Work on Writing
This week we introduced Work on Writing in both kindergarten classrooms. The students have already been introduced to Read to Self, Word Work, Listen to Reading, so they are familiar with the expectations of this time in our classroom. It is hard to believe that 5 and 6 year olds can be quiet all working at the same time independently but come visit our room and you will see, it is possible. We could not be more proud of them. Here are some more pictures of our fabulous kiddos! Remember:THE MORE YOU READ THE BETTER READER YOU WILL BE and THE MORE YOU WRITE THE BETTER WRITER YOU WILL BE!

Mrs.Wittenberg's Class
Yeah! Our first movie created by our kindergartners is finished. We are so proud of them! Our directors did a fabulous job directing our actors and holding the camera. The production crew made beautiful sets and our actors did a fine job memorizing their lines. I hope you enjoy!

How Full is your bucket?
On Tuesday, Mrs. Walsh came in and read How Full is Your Bucket by Tom Rath and Mary Reckmeyer. The story is about a boy named Felix who learns how one's own
interactions with others can have a profound effect on one's own
happiness and that of others. We use the words from the book to help let others know how we feel. We try very had to fill each others' buckets every day and in turn our bucket gets filled too! Thank you, Mrs. Walsh for reading this book to us! Listen to the story above.

The Kissing Hand
Today in Kindergarten we read one of my personal favorite stories, The Kissing Hand! Ask your child to retell you the story:). They loved it! We were also shocked how many students know the big word "nocturnal" since Chester the raccoon goes to school at night in this story! Such a fun day in Kindergarten! The students are adjusting beautifully!
