What I know about pigs!

In kindergarten we have been discussing the difference between fiction and nonfiction! After writing our "piggy tails" fiction stories we explored non fiction writing today! Of course we had to stick to our theme of the week pigs!

Chicks and Eggs

This week we started learning about the life cycle of a chicken. Hopefully your child came home to tell you all about it.  On Monday, our chick eggs are arriving and we are getting ready for the countdown to begin.  Look in your child's backpack to see your official countdown to follow along with us.  Monday, April 8th is Day Zero, so Tuesday is Day One.  Your children found out that it takes 21 days before our chicks will hatch.  So... we should be seeing our little chicks hatching @ April 29th.  In order to make our chicks comfortable we changed the theme of our room to look more like a farm.  Our door has changed into a barn door and we are starting to look like farmers too!

Of course we had to make our own chick and even wrote on an egg about what we are eggs-cellent at!
